Meet Dr. Forbess

Billy Forbess, D.M.D graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1976. Dr. Forbess, frequently referred to as "Dr. Billy" by patients and friends has practiced in the same location, 2134 Nicholasville Road, Suite 7, Lexington, KY since graduation. Dr. Billy is actively involved in all phases of dentistry including cosmetics, orthodontics, general, dental implants, wisdom tooth removal and surgery. He is a past president of the Bluegrass Dental Study Club and the current vice-president of the Blue Grass Dental Society. He is an active member of the ADA (American Dental Association), the Bluegrass Dental Society, the KDA (Kentucky Dental Society), AOS (American Orthodontic Society), AGD (American Academy of General Dentistry), AAID (American Association of Implant Dentist). He spends many hours each year in class so as to always be on the leading edge of the newest developments in dental technology and procedures.

Dr. Billy is one of the few general dentists in Kentucky trained and licensed to perform intravenous sedation to help the nervous patient to relax and be able to receive good dental care, whether it is a surgical procedure or a simple cosmetic procedure. He is also trained in oral (tablet) sedation and nitrous oxide sedation.

Dr. Forbess is aware of patients' dislike at being referred all over town for different procedures. Therefore, he makes every effort to avoid such inconveniences by being trained and experienced in all phases of dentistry. His broad knowledge of dentistry helps simplify dental treatment and improve the results by his being able to control all the various segments of the treatment.

Dr. Billy is one of the first dentists in Kentucky to own the CadCam dental crown computer that allows the patient to have a “same day crown”. This is much preferred to the old fashioned way of wearing a temporary crown three weeks while the lab makes the permanent crown. This same day crown service is the most exciting new area of dentistry. Dr. Billy is proud to be leading the dental community in this new technology.
